This article was created using the screenshot feature on an LG V20 running Android 7.0 Nougat.
This guide will show you the proper settings to use IMAP. If you’re wanting to use IMAP, POP, or POP w/ SSL please refer to the CHI - Default Email Settings article for the proper settings and port numbers.
If you're not sure whether IMAP is currently enabled on your email account, please submit a support ticket within your CHI account. In your ticket please include the name of the domain(s) you would like us to check, and we will be happy to enable it for you.
To verify your email account password, you can do so by logging into your Webmail account. If you forgot your password, you can reset it from within your dashboard or CHI account.
Click the App icon on your device and look for your stand-alone email app. Notice this will vary depending on the device you are using. Make sure it’s not labeled Gmail. The Gmail app is intended for integrated Gmail devices and is not optimized for use with WestHost email accounts.
When creating an email account you must select the “Other” option, as WestHost email is different from the listed options. This will allow you to set up your domain’s email account.
Enter your email address and password, and click click the “Manual Setup” option.
The next page you see will ask which kind of account you want to set up. In this example, we’ll use the IMAP protocol.
Your email address and password should automatically be filled in. Please make sure the User or Username forms are also filled with your email address. Make sure that your IMAP/Incoming mail server is chimail.westhost.com, the SSL is enabled and the port is 993.
Again, make sure the SMTP/Outgoing mail server is chimail.westhost.com, SSL is enabled, the port is 465, and the “Require Sign in” box is checked.
Congratulations! The email setup is now complete! If you like, you can change the name of the account to your preference, such as “WestHost Email” “Work” etc.
From this point, you will be taken to your new email account inbox. We recommend testing the email to make sure it is sending and receiving email properly.
It may take a few minutes after you’ve set up your account before you can send/receive emails.
