As far as WestHost is concerned, yes! There may be a bit of configuration that you need to do to get things uploaded to your WestHost account from iWeb.
The general steps WestHost is aware of are as follows:
- Ensure that you have the FTP server hostname or address for your WestHost account -- this is usually ftp.yourdomain.com
- You will need your cPanel username and password to connect via FTP
- You need to be aware of the path to the folder that contains your website files. For your primary domain, this will be "/public_html" minus the quotes
- Then select your site in iWeb and under "Site Publishing Settings" select "FTP Server"
- Select the option to publish to an FTP server and provide a Site Name and your contact e-mail address
- For the "Server Address" enter your hostname from Step #1
- Enter your username and password from Step #2
- Enter the directory/path for your site files from Step #3
- Set the protocol to FTP and the port number to 21
- Select Test Connection and if it works you will be able to upload your site!
If your site does not appear in a browser, you likely entered the directory/path incorrectly and your website files were uploaded to the wrong place. You can check to be sure your site is using the correct path through cPanel >> File Manager or your own FTP Client.
